No trip to the Cape would be complete without a trip to the winelands. The team at MORE Private Travel has put together a day trip to three spectacular wine farms. Each offers a unique and distinctive experience, highlighting the many different drawcards of the Cape.
- Vergenoegd Wine Estate. One of the oldest estates in the Cape, Vergenoegd was recently transformed under new ownership and is now one of the Cape’s most popular estates. The Indian runner duck parade that happens daily is a highlight for many visitors – young and old. Visitors also have the option of participating in olive oil, tea or coffee blending. The grounds are reminiscent of the Cape Dutch era and are simply beautiful.
- Waterford Estate. You can expect to be transported to a French Chateaux-inspired Estate, situated in a breathtaking valley. Waterford is famous for its delectable wine and chocolate pairings. Explore the working wine farm through a wine safari – a must for anyone who wants to learn more about the biodiversity and natural elements that make their wine unique.
- Delheim. The Sperling family has been making wine on Delheim for decades, and pride themselves on true family hospitality. Here you can experience their “downstairs cellar” with the famous cobwebbed window. A popular experience is the Delheim cupcake and wine pairing.
With your MORE Private travel guide behind the wheel, you can safely taste all the wines on offer at the estates. Your guide will be ready to assist with any purchases you make (unless you select the shipping option on offer). At each estate, there is also something on offer for those not too partial to the fruit of the vine. You also have the option of sitting down for a meal.
HINT: We encourage you to sample the culinary delights of the Stellenbosch wine region. Foodies will not go disappointed…
