Take a Break
There’s a lot to keep you busy in this city. But with its beautiful location and laid-back cosmopolitan atmosphere, we highly recommend also taking some time to relax and become part of the scene.
Feet Up, Sun Hat Down
Camps Bay is our closest beach and a Blue-Flag beauty. It’s long stretch of white sand is washed by turquoise water and we couldn’t think of a lovelier spot for a day at the beach. Umbrellas are for hire along, sunglasses are for sale, and the ice-cream vendors come around at least one an hour. And when lunch rolls around (or sundowners), there’s a promenade full of cafes, restaurants and bars to choose from.
A Walk in the Park
Set out your picnic blanket or out on a walk – the city’s public parks provide a relaxed few hours out of the busyness. Nearest to the hotel, Company’s Garden is the oldest in South Africa where you can feed the squirrels, bird watch and pop into the National Art Gallery.
A little further out, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, on the eastern slope of Table Mountain, is considered amongst the world’s most beautiful. Sculptures are scattered throughout, there’s a Canopy Walkway and in summer, there are concerts in the park.
Ask us about our lunch baskets to take along, otherwise both grounds have popular restaurants. And if you do find yourself out into the golden hours, afternoon tea at Kirstenbosch Tea Garden comes highly recommended – go on, treat yourself!
Cape Cadogan offers a complimentary, shared shuttle service within a 6km (4mi) radius of the hotel
