Hotel Check-In and Checkout Times

Check-in is at 14h00 and checkout is at 11h00, daily. Should you require a later checkout, please contact our Guest Relations team who will do their best to accommodate you.

Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Average maximum temperatures range from 18°C/64°F in July to 27°C/81°F in January, with the lowest average minimum occurring in July at 7°C/45°F. The average annual rainfall is 788mm (31in), most of which occurs between May and August. Cape Town experiences in excess of 250 days of sunshine per year, but can also go through ‘four seasons in a day’. It’s advisable to keep a light windbreaker with you, especially if visiting during spring or autumn.

Best Time to Travel

Cape Town is a year-round destination, depending on the focus of your holiday:

  • September is the beginning of spring and the whale-watching season
  • December to March is the hottest time of the year and an ideal time to visit, especially for beachgoers
  • May to the end of August, the autumn and winter months, provide the ideal conditions for thrill seekers to experience shark-cage diving
  • The Cape Winelands are also at their most lush at this time of year

A same-day laundry service is available at the hotel. Clothes put into an in-room laundry bag, along with a completed item list and left on the bed by 09h00 will be returned by the afternoon. Dry-cleaning is also available daily, except on Sundays and public holidays. Both services are offered at an additional cost.

Gratuity Recommendation

Tipping is at your discretion. Should you choose to leave a gratuity for the staff of Cape Cadogan, you can have this added to your final account, payable on departure, for your convenience. As a guideline, we suggest ZAR150 per guest per day.
